TESTIMONIALS

Temple Historical Society

"I have worked with Captured on Camera® on several occasions during the course of our joint effort to document the markers in North Cemetery, Temple, NH. Our ongoing work involves the mapping of the cemetery, the noting of condition, location, style, and size of each marker, and the recording of information engraved thereon.

Captured on Camera's work is thorough and entirely professional. They are flexible and will work around the needs of their clients. They provide a complete photographic record with additional closeups and panoramic views as needed. A recorder from our historical society was responsible for providing the written description to accompany each photograph. Captured on Camera provided the finished presentation of written and photographic material on CD-ROM

The documentation of cemetery markers is critical because it provides the town with a record of the older markers, which are now deteriorating from the effects of time – weathering, pollution, microbial invasion, and shifting of the earth. Many of these markers are in need of restoration, but are so old that they have no original written record associated with them. Documentation of cemetery markers prevents the permanent loss of valuable information. In addition, it provides quick and easy access to the historical data for academic researchers, historians, and individuals pursuing family genealogy projects.

I highly recommend this service to any town, organization, or individual who is interested in developing a digital record of historical markers, monuments, or buildings. The applications are endless."

Marblehead Historical Commission

May 26, 2006

The Town of Marblehead has in our archives a collection of 46 three ring binders in which have been assembled a large collection of historical data about the town and it’s people.

It consisted of about 4500 pages of news clippings, typed pages, handwritten pages, photos and other similar material.  Most of these pages were newsprint or similar paper which overtime would turn yellow and disintegrate.  In fact some of the earlier news clippings were already in poor shape.

We contracted with Captured On Camera to scan these pages and convert them to digital images on CD’s and PDF files on DVD.

We are very pleased with the professional quality of the work and the results obtained.  I would recommend that other similar collections should be so preserved and that Captured On Camera would do a great job.
